We are looking for experienced Caregivers and Certified CCAs who are confident assisting with personal care, mobility, meals, light housekeeping, companionship and family respite. Many Earth Angels clients are living with dementia, so every caregiver assigned to dementia care receives Teepa Snow Positive Approach to Care education and practical coaching. Successful caregivers are reliable, respectful, observant, and committed to learning how to support each client’s remaining abilities, routines, and individual preferences.

Responsibilities

Depending on the client’s care plan, you may assist with:

• Bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
• Mobility, transfers, and approved equipment.
• Meal preparation and eating assistance.
• Medication reminders or authorized assistance.
• Light housekeeping, laundry, and grocery support.
• Companionship, meaningful activities, and family respite.
• Recognizing and promptly reporting changes or safety concerns.
• Completing accurate electronic care notes and visit records.

Many Earth Angels clients are living with dementia. After hire, caregivers complete approved Teepa Snow Positive Approach to Care training and must demonstrate proficiency in Positive Physical Approach™, Hand-under-Hand® and GEMS®-informed support before independently accepting designated dementia assignments.

What we are looking for

• Relevant hands-on caregiving experience.
• Demonstrated ability to assist with ADLs and IADLs.
• Experience supporting mobility and transfers.
• Ability to work independently in private homes.
• Reliable, sustainable availability that aligns with client needs.
• Respectful communication and sound judgment.
• Ability to follow care plans and recognize role boundaries.
• Ability to use a mobile device for scheduling, EVV, and care notes.
• Current First Aid and CPR, WHMIS, Food Safety, or ability to obtain them.
• Satisfactory references and required background screening.
• Reliable transportation to assigned client homes.

Certified CCA applicants must provide evidence of applicable Nova Scotia certification and registry status. Candidates who are not Certified CCAs may be considered for assignments that fall within their verified competence and Earth Angels’ approved caregiver role.
