Our client is a technology company focused on improving indoor air quality and building performance through connected environmental monitoring solutions. Their products combine smart sensors, cloud-based analytics, and building management system integrations to help commercial buildings improve air quality, optimize HVAC operations, reduce energy consumption, and support healthy-building certifications.
Their solutions are designed for enterprise and commercial environments, including large-scale building portfolios, and integrate with existing building systems and networks.
We are looking for a Field Deployment Manager to lead the successful deployment of connected building technology across commercial properties.
This is primarily a remote project coordination and technical execution role. You will coordinate third-party installers, general contractors, client IT teams, and other stakeholders from pre-installation through final go-live. You will not be responsible for physical installation work, but you will need enough hands-on technical knowledge to troubleshoot networking, connectivity, cabling, device configuration, and deployment issues in the field.
Success means ensuring every assigned device is installed correctly, connected properly, and reliably reporting clean data to the cloud or building management system.
Manage end-to-end deployment projects from pre-installation planning through go-live.
Review building plans, floor plans, and construction drawings to determine device and gateway placement.
Coordinate third-party installers, low-voltage contractors, general contractors, client IT teams, and facility teams.
Confirm that site prerequisites are completed before installation begins.
Track device quantities, installation progress, logistics, dependencies, and project milestones.
Provide technical direction to contractors and resolve deployment blockers.
Troubleshoot practical networking issues including IP addressing, DHCP/DNS, VLANs, firewall rules, port access, and cabling.
Coordinate with customer network administrators to resolve connectivity and access requirements.
Verify device installation, connectivity, configuration, and data reporting.
Identify and resolve issues that could delay deployment or go-live.
Maintain clear project documentation, status updates, and deployment records.
Coordinate with internal technical and customer-facing teams when escalations are required.
Ensure deployed devices are reliably reporting clean data to the cloud or BMS.
Support continuous improvement of deployment processes and field documentation.
3+ years of experience deploying physical technology in occupied commercial buildings, such as IoT, low-voltage, security, AV, telecom, or building technology.
Strong ability to read and interpret floor plans and construction drawings.
Practical field-level networking knowledge, including IP addressing, DHCP/DNS, VLANs, firewall rules, and network connectivity.
Experience coordinating third-party contractors, installers, or field service teams.
Strong project coordination and execution skills.
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues remotely and direct others through on-site troubleshooting.
Comfortable working across multiple stakeholders, including contractors, IT teams, facilities teams, and customers.
Strong documentation and communication skills.
Nice-to-Have
Experience with BMS/HVAC controls or building automation.
Experience deploying IoT or connected building technologies.
Experience working with BACnet, Modbus, or similar building protocols.
Experience with enterprise building deployments.
Experience working with general contractors or low-voltage contractors.
Familiarity with cloud-connected hardware or sensor deployments.
Experience with commercial building technology or smart-building projects.
Key Qualities

Highly organized and detail-oriented
Practical, hands-on problem solver
Confident directing contractors and external stakeholders
Comfortable working independently
Technically curious and resourceful
Clear and professional communicator
Proactive when identifying deployment risks
