Why Join Mid-Columbia Pet Emergency Service

At Mid-Columbia Pet Emergency Service, part of Ethos Veterinary Health, we believe great ER technicians aren't expected to know everything on day one. That's why we created our ER Immersion Program, a structured, hands-on training experience that pairs you with experienced technicians and doctors who genuinely enjoy teaching, designed to help you build confidence, strengthen critical thinking skills, and thrive in emergency medicine with a supportive team behind you. You'll have hands-on learning opportunities in areas like ultrasound, advanced nursing care, anesthesia, and critical case management, plus continued learning through Penn Foster sponsorship opportunities, CE support, annual conference opportunities including IVECCS, and mentorship for technicians pursuing their VTS goals, all in a collaborative, no-ego environment where questions are encouraged and support is always available.

In your day-to-day, you will:

• Triage and monitor emergency and critically ill patients, escalating changes to the veterinary team
• Place IV catheters, draw blood, and administer medications and fluids under veterinary direction
• Induce, monitor, and maintain anesthesia and provide skilled nursing care for surgical and critical cases
• Perform diagnostics such as radiographs, laboratory samples, and patient assessments within the WA LVT scope of practice
• Perform accurate calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices, and estimates
