Pediatric Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Shepherd Mall

Pediatric Occupational Therapy Assistant

Outpatient Clinic  •  Oklahoma City, OK  •  Full-Time  •  $45-57k/year

Therapitas has served Spanish-speaking families in Oklahoma since 2015 with one mission: ensuring Spanish-speaking children have the same access to quality therapy as any other child. If you are a passionate Occupational Therapist looking for a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children, we want to talk to you.

We’re hiring a Pediatric Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our multidisciplinary outpatient team in Oklahoma City. We provide trained interpreter support, so Spanish fluency is a plus, but not required.

Why Join Therapitas?

• Mission-Driven Work: Be part of a team that expands access to care and makes a meaningful difference for children and families.
• Work-Life Balance: Documentation gets done at work, not at home. We build documentation time into your schedule, protect your lunch hour, and use unfilled cancellations as additional documentation time.
• Structured Mentorship and Support: New hires go through a formal training and ramp-up period, with ongoing support through regular one-on-ones, documentation guidance, and professional development.
• Collaborative Team Environment: Work alongside experienced OTs, PTs, SLPs, and support staff who value teamwork, growth, and excellent care.
• A Sustainable Caseload: Most therapists carry about 23–28 hours of direct therapy per week, with caseloads built around experience and preferences.

What You’ll Do

✔️ Implement treatment plans developed by a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT).
✔️ Provide skilled intervention to support fine/visual motor skills, sensory processing challenges, ADL participation, delayed or restrictive feeding patterns, and overall functional independence.
✔️ Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic activities and home programs to enhance progress.
✔️ Document services in our easy-to-use EMR to meet clinical standards and payer requirements
✔️ Collaborate with PTs, SLPs, and other team members to provide coordinated, family-centered care
✔️ Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistant students

What Your Caseload May Look Like

You’ll see mostly toddlers and school-age children, with some infants and adolescents. Patients may range from 2 weeks to 20 years old. Common diagnoses include developmental delay, sensory processing challenges, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other genetic or neurological conditions.
