About the Role
About AB Dynamics
AB Dynamics is one of the world’s leading specialists in automotive test systems, supplying a range of advanced solutions including driving robots, ADAS soft crash targets and driving simulators to all major vehicle manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers globally. The company's unique technology is used for many applications including the development of autonomous vehicles.
Role Overview
As the Senior Regulatory & Compliance Engineer, you will lead product compliance and safety activities across the AB Dynamics product portfolio, helping to ensure our products meet applicable regulatory, legal, and industry requirements.
Working closely with engineering teams, you will identify the regulations, directives, and standards that apply to our products and translate these into clear, practical requirements that can be incorporated into product development. You will support product safety activities, guide compliance assessments, maintain technical documentation, and help ensure compliance is considered throughout the product lifecycle, from concept through to release and ongoing support.
You will stay up to date with changes to regulations, standards, and safety requirements, assessing their impact on current and future products and turning those requirements into clear, actionable plans that enable the business to maintain compliance and deliver safe, reliable products.
Alongside compliance responsibilities, you will play an important role in developing AB Dynamics' approach to functional safety. We recognise that functional safety expertise can be difficult to acquire and do not expect candidates to arrive with extensive experience in this area. Instead, we are looking for someone with a strong compliance and engineering mindset who is keen to learn. We will support your development in functional safety while you help build our understanding of how functional safety principles can be applied across our products, processes, and future technology roadmaps.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead product compliance activities across the AB Dynamics product portfolio, ensuring products continue to meet applicable regulatory, legal, and industry requirements.
- Identify and interpret relevant regulations, directives, standards, and guidance, translating them into clear and actionable requirements for engineering teams.
- Work closely with product development teams to embed compliance and product safety considerations throughout the product lifecycle.
- Plan, coordinate, and support compliance assessments, testing, certifications, and approvals required for market access.
- Lead product risk assessment activities, ensuring safety-related risks are identified, assessed, and appropriately mitigated.
- Maintain technical documentation, compliance records, declarations, and supporting evidence required to demonstrate compliance.
- Monitor changes in regulations, standards, and safety requirements, evaluate their impact on existing and future products, and drive the actions required to maintain compliance.
- Support the development of AB Dynamics' functional safety capability, helping to establish appropriate processes, tools, and engineering practices.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of compliance and safety processes, ensuring they remain proportionate, effective, and aligned with business needs.
